The Business Decisions That Shape Growth (And the Women Making Them)
March is Women’s History Month, which has me thinking about the milestones we celebrate every day at The Collective.
The ones that stretch us. The ones that require more of us. The ones that move us forward.
And every single one of those moments traces back to a decision—a choice that shapes what comes next in business and life.
A Simple Question That Opened Up a Lot
Recently, I asked a few women inside The Collective: What is one business decision you’re proud of?
It’s a simple question. But the answers say a lot about how real growth actually happens.
Before we get into their responses, I want you to think about it too.
What is one business decision you’re proud of?
Not the one you think you should say, but the one that actually changed something for you.
Investing in Growth and the Right Rooms
Erica Bollinger, The Mustard Seed Agency
One decision Erica is especially proud of is investing in community and mentorship.
Through masterminds and coaching, including her work with The MindHER Company, she’s been able to step into bigger decisions, faster growth, and braver leadership than she would have on her own.
This is something I see again and again.
When you put yourself in rooms where people are thinking bigger, moving faster, and holding a higher standard, it changes how you show up.
It shortens the timeline between where you are and where you want to go.
Choosing Margin Over Hustle
Jennifer Sise, Time & Business Coach, Speaker & Author
Jennifer shared that one of the decisions she’s most proud of is choosing to value margin over hustle.
That shift is significant.
Building a business that supports your life requires intentional choices about where your time, energy, and focus go. Without that, it’s easy to fill your schedule and still feel behind.
She said something that’s worth sitting with:
You don’t have to do it all to be it all. Decide what “all” means to you, not anyone else, and take action toward that.
What you ultimately want out of your life and work is possible. It becomes a matter of clarity and consistency over time.
Hiring as a Leadership Decision
Natalie Taylor, Trinity Insurance Group
One of the business decisions Natalie is most proud of is choosing to hire.
She knew she wanted to take her business to the next level, and that meant recognizing she couldn’t do it alone.
With the encouragement and structure she found through the Elevate Mastermind, she committed to building a team and created a clear process for bringing the right people alongside her.
Now, she has a repeatable hiring process that allows her to continue growing with confidence.
Stepping into leadership in this way didn’t just change her business. It changed how she sees herself as a business owner.
Why Community Accelerates Growth
There’s a common thread in all of these decisions.
None of them happened in isolation.
Spaces like The Collective exist because women grow faster when they’re surrounded by other women who are building, learning, and moving forward.
Proximity matters.
Being in a room where conversations are happening, ideas are being shared, and decisions are being made in real time shifts what you believe is possible.
And that shift influences every decision that follows.
What Decision Are You Proud Of?
Take a minute and think about your own answer.
What is one business decision you’re proud of?
Chances are, it required you to stretch. To trust yourself. To do something that felt uncomfortable at the time.
Those are the decisions that build momentum.
Those are the ones that move you forward.
And often, those decisions are easier to make when you’re not making them alone.
Whether it’s through conversations happening inside The Collective or the deeper strategy and support found inside our masterminds, being in the right room changes how you think, what you consider possible, and how quickly you act.
If you’re looking for a space that offers community, accountability, and a room full of women building alongside you, The Collective or one of our masterminds might be exactly what you need next.
If you’re curious, reach out. I’m always happy to share more about what that could look like for you.
